Spa Overview
In Tugu Bali, spa is extremely inter-related with the secret of the East. For centuries, local Javanese, Peranakan, Balinese people have been following their own concept of spa treatment. They combine spiritual treatment with physical treatment to achieve ultimate relaxation of the mind and body. In some cases of high rank society, a magical power is used to hypnotize a patient. This magical power is also used in a good sense to create a conducive atmosphere or ambiance for the patient to achieve a certain degree of peacefulness. In the lightest degree, the smell, color, and texture of certain flowers can affect human senses.
Luxury and authenticity are our spa concept: you should try our authentic treatments such as The Balinese 'Pijitan' (massage) or The Javanese 'Pijitan' (massage) a journey back thousand years ago to rediscover the Balinese or Javanese aura (for the well-being of body and mind) in the hideaway romantic atmosphere of Hotel Tugu Bali. Treatments are available in the privacy of your room (equipped with massage bed) or at one of our 4 chambers (kamar), and the outdoor hut (gubuk). The décor of the five spa treatment areas, scattered among the pavilions, falls neatly in line with the rest of this 23-suite hotel. But simply it tells the story of several centuries of Indonesian cultures. |

"Gemulai Penari Bali" at Kamar Dandang Goela
This complete treatment proposes a combination of body treatment, beauty treatment, a healthy gourmet lunch, relaxation and a combination of baths between hot Jacuzzi and chilled water pool, in The Dandang Goela, an exclusive, romantic and mystical treatment room with Tibetan and Hindu cultural atmosphere. This soft treatment has been designed to let you fall under the charms of our beautiful, refined Balinese dancing therapists and their magic hands that follow the rhythm of the Balinese music.
"Dandang Watoe" at Kamar Semedhi
A perfect rhythm combination of ancient massage therapy using stones from Yang Tze river (China) and Gunung Kidul (Central Java) stones. The stones are steamed in a traditional steamer ("dandang") filled with spices and herbs, until the stones absorb the fragrant from the spices and herbs. These stones were placed on specific points of the body with chanting of mantra.

A complete treatment for the evasion of the mind and ecstasy of senses in Gubug Nglamun Leha-Leha, an al fresco treatment hut filled with sea breezes which will take you to daydream and relax. "Pijitan" Leha-Leha (Stress Relaxing Massage)
A deep massage to relieve muscular tension especially after a long journey. Working on pressure points of the back, shoulder, head and face. The massage balances energy for your well-being.
"Pijitan" Kepala (Scalp Massage)
"Pijitan" kepala is designed to revitalize your hair and to relax your neck and shoulder. This treatment begins with a brush massage working into the scalp for maximum comfort and relaxation. A natural aloe-vera gel, extract of avocado and candlenut oil (kemiri) is worked into the hair to strengthen the hair. The scalp is deeply massaged for about 25 minutes, along with neck and shoulders.

It is a deep-tissue massage, a traditional Balinese massage technique that is passed from generation to generation, using coconut oils and pressure on specific points of the body.

This is a deep-tissue massage, a traditional massage that has been practiced for centuries by Javanese people using coconut oil for the wellness of body and mind.
"Pijitan" Wangi Bunga (Floral Aromatherapy Massage)
"Pijitan" Wangi Bunga includes a full body massage utilizing the positive effects of tropical floral aromatic essential oils such as melati (jasmine), cempaka (tropical magnolia), kamboja (frangipani), mawar (roses), bambu (bamboo), etc to enhance the service. The positive effects achieved by inhaling and having the floral essential oils absorbed through the skin can maximize the body massage activation.

It begins with the feet soaking in warm water filled with tropical flowers followed by a foot massage sign of devotion to Prince/Princess in Java sometime ago.
Floral Facial Aromatherapy
Another very popular treatment that includes a relaxing facial massage. The positive effects are achieved by both inhaling the aroma of the tropical floral essential oils and by having the tropical floral essential oils absorbed through the skin.
Keraton Treatment
A combination of several techniques and treatments, to make you feel like a Javanese Prince or Princess in Keraton (Javanese Palace). This Keraton treatment applies the Royal Javanese full body treatment. This cultural experience will take you to the journey through time of Javanese total body treatment. It is a combination of hair treatment ending with the Ratus Wangi, a hair perfuming treatment where the hair is perfumed with the steam from the boiling essence. Luluran (Body Scrub) and Mandi Bunga (The Floral bath to end this treatment filled with colourful and fragrant tropical flower in warm water).
Mandi Lulur
The treatment is inspired by traditional wedding ceremony preparation in Java. It is given to women each day during the week preceding their wedding day. This wonderful experience will smoothen, soften and exfoliate the skin, and will rejuvenate your body through massage. It is a combination of traditional Javanese massage, herbal peeling to exfoliate dead skin cells, and relax with a soothing immersion of herbal bath. To complete your treatment, bedak dingin kuno (ancient cold powder) is applied to your body to emphasize the pleasure of relaxation.
Lururan (Body Scrub)
Started by traditional Balinese massage and continued with the exfoliation process to eliminate dead skin cells from neck to toe, the ideal way to counter skin imperfection, small lines and brown spots. Luluran on a regular basis keeps your skin clean, clear and healthy. Temugiring Extracts (curcuma beyneana) help to soften and improve the texture and complexion of the skin. A wonderful way to be pampered.
Mandi Rempah (Herbal Bath)
Optional after-treatment bath. After all treatments, we propose you to have a relaxing bath with traditional spices and dried herbs, vetiver (Akar Wangi) and several kinds of roots. This herbal bath is perfect for enjoying the sensual exhilaration of these natural herbs & spices. |
